Top LeT militant killed in Jammu & Kashmir

A top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant was killed in an overnight encounter with security forces at Handwara in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip off, security forces launched a combing operation at Laribal village.

During the gunbattle, the house, where two militants were holed up, caught fire.

?We have recovered as charred body?we presume it belongs to top LeT militant Fahadullah, who hailed from Pakistan. We are searching the debris for the body of the second militant,? said a senior security official.

The police recovered an AK47 rifle, two magazines and some communication equipment from the encounter site.
