HC to hear Karnataka Independent MLAs plea on Nov 8

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday adjourned till November 8 the hearing on a petition against disqualification of five independent MLAs.

The five legislators, along with11 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmakers, were disqualified from the state Assembly by Speaker KG Bopaiah, after they had withdrawn support to the BJP-led Yeddyurappa Government.

Last week, the High Court upheld disqualification of 11 rebel BJP MLAs, who are now considering to move the Supreme Court against the verdict.

The Karnataka High Court’s full bench, comprising Justice Mohan Shantanagoudar, Justice Abdul Nazar Gawali and Justice AS Bopanna, will hear the petition of the Independent MLAs.
