Karnataka Governor hits out on judicial probe into land scams
Karnataka Governor HR Bhardwaj on Sunday spoke out against the state chief minister?s decision to constitute a judicial probe into alleged land scams.
Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa came under criticism from the state Governor, who accused Yeddurappa of trying to divert attention from the land scam allegations against him.
Bhardwaj maintained that Yeddyruppa was trying to deflect the attention by suggesting a judicial probe, media reports said.
The chief minister had announced a judicial probe into the allegations of land scam against him.
But the announcement of the judicial enquiry had drawn criticism from Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hedge also, before the Governor spoke out against it.
The Lokayukta had claimed that the enquiry cannot be transferred to any other commission without his approval, though the government has maintained a different view.
Yeddurappa has been facing allegations of wrongful allotment of land to his family members.
