Karnataka Guv HR Bharadwaj working as Congressman: Naidu

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday accused Karnataka Governor HR Bharadwaj of functioning as a Congress party man rather than a state?s constitutional head.

Taking pot shots at Bharadwaj, Naidu said at a press conference here, ?He is a nominated governor who had come with a political mandate to Karnataka.

?He came to destablise the government as the Congress could not stand the BJP?s first-ever government in the South. ?

Bharadwaj has been criticized by the BJP for recommending sanction of prosecution against Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa in an alleged land scam.

Criticizing the governor?s role, Naidu said Bharadwaj was acting more like an Opposition leader.

?The Raj Bhawan, which he changed to Gandhi Bhawan, has become a meeting ground for Congress leaders,? the BJP leader accused.

Taking a dig at Bharadwaj, Naidu said, ?Bharadwaj must be made the working president of the Congress in Karnataka, going by his zeal for the party.?
