Principal suspended for punishing girls
The principal of a government girls school in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district was suspended Thursday following complaints that he had given corporal punishment to students, officials said.
Dalbir Singh, principal of the secondary school at Kairon, 40 km from Amritsar, was suspended by the education department after a report submitted by the district education officer found that he had allegedly misbehaved with girl students and given them corporal punishment.
Parents and social activists in Tarn Taran had Wednesday demanded that the principal be suspended and that a case be registered against him for misbehaving with girl students.
