Efforts on to rescue trapped labourer in Jhadol Tehsil

Udaipur : Rescue operations are on to recover a labourer trapped for six days in a tunnel that collapsed in Jhadol Tehsil in Rajasthan’s Udaipur district.

A worker Narayan Singh was busy in a 3.3km long tunnel under construction between Dodawali and Raita when the accident happened trapping him on one side, officials said.

As part of the ongoing rescue effort, a tunnel is being dug with the help of a special Hydraulic machine brought from New Delhi.

Oxygen cylinders are being used to pump in air to the victim, food and water are also being given to the victim through the pipe and he is no immediate danger, authorities said
