Mamata summons Dinesh Trivedi to Kolkata

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee Wednesday night summoned Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi to Kolkata, hours after he made defiant statements disregarding the party’s diktat to him to roll-back the rail tariff hike.

“Dinesh Trivedi has been asked to come to Kolkata by our party chief,” a Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP told IANS on condition of anonymity.

Asked about reports that Banerjee has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh proposing Mukul Roy’s name as the new railway minister, he said: “I have no knowledge about it”.
