West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee meets P Chidambaram
West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Wednesday called on Union Home Minister P Chidambaram at the latter’s chamber and discussed about the state law and order situation arising out of latest Maoist trouble, political violence and Gorkhaland agitation.
Their meeting comes after the recent “letters war” where they accused each other of leaking matter of the letters to the press before reaching the same to the addressee.
Bhattacharjee said his meeting with the Home Minister was ‘good’ and in ‘cordial atmosphere’.
The two leaders held meeting about an hour in the morning.
The Left Front CM was invited by Chidambaram to visit Delhi nearly a month ago for talks after the Trinamool Congress (TMC) demanded the Centre must take action to stop the violence in West Bengal.
TMC chief and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee also accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) of harbouring “harmad” or goons to ‘teach lessons’ to the Opposition parties in poll-bound Bengal.
