Woman killed, husband injured in parcel bomb blast in West Bengal

Kolkata  :  A woman was killed and her husband critically injured Wednesday after she opened a parcel delivered through a courier service in West Bengal’s Howrah district, police said.

“A woman in her 40s died on the spot while her husband was critically injured after she opened a parcel delivered to her through a courier service. The man has been hospitalised,” an officer of Shibpur police station, under which the incident happened, said.

“A bomb squad is inspecting the site. We are yet to ascertain who delivered the parcel and who sent it,” added the officer.
