42 militants die in Kashmir encounters this month
Some 42 two extremists from different groups have been liquidated in different counter-insurgency operations and encounters in the Kashmir Valley in September, Army said on Saturday.
The deaths occurred to those militants, including many foreign nationals in counter-infiltration and counter-insurgency operations in the Valley during 30 days in last calender month.
Besides those, a large cache of arms and ammunition were seized and many hideouts were destroyed in the past month, that helped contain the infiltration to some extent.
The arsenals recovered include assault rifles, rocket propelled grenades, hand grenades, improvised explosive device (IED) equipment, detonators, mines and sophisticated communication equipment.
Meawhile, curfew was relaxed on Friday in Srinagar and Kupwara, police said. Curfew restrictions were relaxed from 3:30 pm till further orders in Kupwara in north Kashmir.
