West Indies were bowled out for 171 in 34 overs while chasing a revised target of 274 off 39 after a long rain delay which interrupted the West Indies innings.

India, powered by a century from skipper Virat Kohli, had put up a challenging total of 311/7 in 50 overs after being put into bat.

Kohli (102) scored his 14th one-day unternational (ODI) ton off 83 balls which included 13 boundaries and two sixes after middle-order batsmen failed to capitalise on a solid start by openers Rohit Sharma (46) and Shikhar Dhawan’s (69) 123-run partnership.

India were reeling at 221/6 in the 42nd over when Ravichandran Ashwin (27 not out) stepped in, and with Kohli, put together a 90-run partnership for the seventh wicket from just 50 balls which propelled India past the 300-run mark.

Earlier, Sharma and Dhawan laid a solid foundation hitting the Windies bowlers for 13 boundaries and two sixes together before the left-handed Dhawan got out, getting caught in deep square leg, starting a collapse of the batsmen.

Sharma also got out soon followed by Suresh Raina (10), Dinesh Karthik (6), Murali Vijay (27) and Ravindra Jadeja (2), before Ashwin stepped in.

Tino Best scalped two wickets while Kemar Roach, Dwayne Bravo, Marlon Samuels and Kieron Pollard clinched a wicket each.
