Anil Kumble announced his retirement from Cricket

Former Test captain of India and legendary spinner Anil Kumble on Tuesday announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, including the Indian Premier League 4.

Anil Radhakrisnan Kumble, now 40, in a communique, conveyed his retirement decision to the Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI).

The right-arm spinner, who held records of taking 619 wickets in 132 Tests and 337 wickets in 271 one-dayers, said he wolud not take part in the 2011 IPL player auction.

Nicknamed Jumbo and a gentleman of the game, Kumble pulled out because of his administrative responsibility in the Karnataka Cricket Association.

The ex-skipper had played in all the three editions of IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
