Australia defeat Zimbabwe by 91 runs

Ahmedabad : World Champions Australia commenced their World Cup campaign with a win as they thrashed Zimbabwe by 91 runs here on Monday.

Riding on opener Shane Watson?s 79 runs, Australia posed a competitive total of 262 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their quota of 50 overs.

Chasing 262 for victory Zimbabwe kept on losing wickets at regular intervals as their innings came to an end at 171 runs.

Graeme Cremer remained the pick of the Zimbabwe batsmen with 37 runs.

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson took 4 wickets in the match ands remained the top of the Aussie bowlers.
