Boat capsize takes 22 people in Bihar

Buxar : Sunday’s boat capsized toll in Bihar rose to twenty-two and many were still missing in the Ganga, police and rescuemen said on Monday.

The country-boat ferrying some fifty people to Dapupur from neighbouring Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district sunk after it fell in a whirlpool in the Brahmpur block of Buxar district of Bihar.

Police and rescue-men confirmed confirmed 22 deaths as all have been fished out from the swelling river. They said the the toll might rise.
