Pune makes impressive start to IPL
Debutant Pune Warriors made a electrifying start to their Indian Premiere League (IPL) venture as they defeated Kings XI Punjab by seven wickets at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy on Sunday night.
Batting first, Punjab kept on losing wickets one after the other, as they could only make 112 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.
Chasing the small target, Pune reached the winning score of 113 runs in just 13.1 overs and with seven wickets in hand.

M Manhas remained the top scorer of the innings with his 35 run knock along with New Zealand player J. Ryder (31).
The pair scored 60 runs together after the initial blow of losing the wicket of GC Smith (0).
After Ryder and Manhas got out, it was in-form skipper Yuvraj Singh (21*) and
R Uthappa (22*) who pulled the side to the winning target.
