South Africa set 268 target for India to win series

Centurion (South Africa) : South Africa garnered 250/9 in a rain-delayed ODI against India which reduced the match to 46 overs a side at the Centurion on Sunday.

With South Africa losing wickets quickly after resumption of the play, India were left to chase 268 runs in 46 overs in accordance with the Duckworth?Lewis (D/L) method to win the series.

South Africa were 226 for loss of three wickets in 42 overs when rain played the spoilsport and halted the fifth and final One-Day International (ODI).
The play later resumed but the match was reduced to 46 overs a side.

Hashim Amla however took the hosts on driver’s seat as he played a superb knock of 111 while his partnership with van Wyk produced 97 for the second wicket.

After the resumption of the play from 42nd over, JP Duminy was scalped by Munaf Patel who took the catch cleanly as well. Other wickets too fell in quick succession.

India had won the toss and captain M S Dhoni had elected to bowl first.
