Swamy to ask TN Guv grant to prosecute Karunanidhi

Chennai : After asking a Delhi court to make Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi a co-accused in the 2G Spectrum scam, Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy will meet state Governor Surjit Singh Barnala on Monday to seek permission to prosecute Karunanidhi in another alleged scam.

Swamy told reporters that he is slated to meet Barnala later on Monday and will ask his sanction to prosecute the chief minister in an alleged land scam.

?The Tamil Nadu Housing Board is facing allegations of allotting land to ineligible people under a discretionary quota.

?Swamy, pointing that the Governor cannot delay grant of prosecution, said he has 22 more dossiers against Karunanidhi and will come out with those soon.

?Earlier on Saturday, Swamy in an additional application before a Delhi court, had pleaded for impeachment of Karunanidhi as a co-accused in the 2G scam, in which the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has already arrested former telecom minister A Raja (a DMK MP).

?Swamy has contended that Raja could not have executed such a massive scam, without the knowledge of his party?s chief.

?Raja was arrested by the CBI earlier this week in connection with wrongful allocation of 2G Spectrum.

?Karunanidhi on Sunday slapped a legal notice on Swamy for naming him as a co-accused in the multi-crore telecom scam.

?The Dravida Mennetra Kazagham (DMK) patriarch, Karunanidhi also demanded public retraction of Swamy?s allegations against him in connection with the 2G Spectrum scam within 24 hours. ?
