Third Indian found killed in Nairobi mall attack
New Delhi/Nairobi : Another Indian, Sudharshan B. Nagaraj from Bangalore, was Tuesday identified as among the 62 killed in the Nairobi mall attack by Islamist militants. This raises to three the number of Indians killed in the attack, the government said.
“The toll of Indian citizens killed in Westgate attack rises. Sudharshan B..Nagaraj from Bangalore sadly identified as among those killed. He was in the book trade and had only come to Nairobi on Sep 20,” said a short statement of the external affairs ministry.
The Indian High Commission in Nairobi is in touch with Nagaraj’s next of kin and associates to repatriate his mortal remains, it said.
Earlier, Sridhar Natarajan, 40, from Tamil Nadu, and Paramshu Jain, eight, the son of a Bank of Baroda’s Nairobi branch manager, were identified as among those killed by Islamist militants in their terror strike in Westgate mall in the Kenyan capital.
Somalia-based militant group Al Shabab has claimed responsibility for the shooting spree in Westgate mall. Four Indians are also among the nearly 200 injured.
